Yearning for communal connection over isolating individualization
Are you craving more creativity and authenticity in your work? If you’re like a lot of folks I’m talking to these days, you may also be yearning for some communal connection over that isolating individualization many of us were taught and work in. In our upcoming Creativity Lab, we’ll dive deep into the process of deinstitutionalizing your mindset (loosening the grip of the beliefs that are overworking you) in order to shift from a scarcity-driven perspective to one rooted in abundance.
This shift isn’t just about thinking differently; it’s about reclaiming the creative potential that has been suppressed by the limits of traditional systems. For academics, professionals, and leaders alike, this is your invitation to reimagine a future where you’re not bound by outdated expectations but instead empowered to create and work in a way that’s aligned with true liberation and possibility.
A big focus in how I’ve designed this upcoming Creativity Lab (you can still join, click here) is around a concept I’m calling relational creativity. This is a way to describe engaging with creativity that is inherently interconnected—drawing from relationships with people, ideas, nature, and community. In this Creativity Lab, we will emphasize collaboration, reciprocity, and co-creation as fundamental to generating new ideas and imagining abundant futures.
We are moving well beyond the notion that creativity is a solitary act–the idea that creativity equates with isolation and solitude for the brain, really without any reference to the body or others. I think there’s time and place in the process for that and there’s ample time and place for relationships and inspiration.
Leaning into supportive, creative communities in 2025 is more critical than ever. After all, gathering in community is radical resistance and abundant inspiration. To me, this creative community is:
A protective boundary against burnout and overing
A radically restful pause in your workweek
A container of critical hope and acceptance
A safer place to play in the edges of discomfort and growth
A validating group of other growth-oriented professionals and all-around badass folk
A lifeline that keeps the momentum and accountability going in a nonjudgmental way
I see you. I know you’re smart and used to figuring things out on your own. You’ve built a career by being resourceful, resilient, and self-sufficient. So I truly understand that version of figuring things out on your own and pushing through like you always do.
What if you don’t have to do it alone? What if you don’t have to just push through?
I have no doubt you can. And…you don’t have to - our journey is meant to be communal and with greater ease.
What if you had a different kind of creative support?
Not the competitive, scarcity-driven academic culture you’re used to—but a community of growth-oriented professionals actively navigating this transition alongside you.
That’s exactly what you’ll find in The Abundant Imagination Creativity Lab—a space designed for academics, leaders, and professionals who are ready to rethink their relationship to creativity in their life and work, expand their possibilities, and take intentional steps forward.
