Shed to the Bones: Visualize Your Priorities with Clarity
Last week, I hosted a workshop for my Cultivate Connection Community program called 2025: Your Year of Shedding and Rebirth, inspired by the Chinese Year of the Snake and my love for the snake we reside with in our little urban yard. Little did I know how committed I was to snake energy!
While clearing out a funky old cabinet in the house on Sunday, I uncovered a snake’s tail skeleton—beautiful and symbolic of the shedding process that leads to growth. I feel so in awe and encouraged that this is the focus we need right now.
That skeleton got me thinking: What if we treated our priorities like the bones of a snake? A strong, flexible structure that guides our movement and supports growth—that is protected by an outer layer (metaphorically think boundaries, mindsets, routines, behaviors) that you can shed and rebuild when you outgrow them.
When life gets busy, it’s easy for our priorities to become a tangled mess—overlapping, neglected, and unclear, like a snake without its skeleton, unable to move with purpose. The snake’s tail gives it balance, alignment, and energy efficiency. Similarly, in our own lives, when we organize our priorities around a clear and flexible structure, we can regain flow and clarity.
I’m inviting you to join me in bringing that kind of energizing flow and clarity into your life by being a part of our Cultivate Connection Community. You’ll have access to monthly workshops, office hours, and a supportive community of like-minded folks who are all working towards growth, resilience, and intentional living. Together, we’ll shed what no longer serves us and realign to our deepest priorities so that our work this year makes the positive impact the world needs.
(And if you join in the next month, you’ll get access to my bi-annual Creativity Lab workshop series for free!).
Here’s a sample of a practice we’re currently cultivating in the community program. You can do this, too!
✨ Resilience Practice: Build Your Priority Skeleton
Identify Your Bones
Start by identifying the essential elements of your life—your "bones"—that need structure right now. Whether it’s work, creativity, family, or self-care, these are the vertebrae of your personal skeleton. Which areas of your life need a stronger foundation? What have you neglected that is key to your well-being?Identify What to Shed
What feels too tight or no longer serves you? If you could shed one thing today, what would it be, and how would it free up space for growth?Release What No Longer Fits
Just like a snake sheds its skin when it becomes too tight, it’s time to release what no longer fits. By letting go of outdated tasks, commitments, or beliefs, you make space for new possibilities to emerge.
I would love for you to join us. Together, we can nurture true regenerative resilience and take intentional steps toward greater alignment, growth, and clarity so that you can make the impact you want with your beautiful life and work.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want to learn more about joining our community.
It’s time to shed the weight of all those institutional expectations weighing you down. Looking forward to shedding and growing with you in 2025!
