Shed & Rebirth:Start Your 2025 Transformation

As we step into a new year, I invite you to reflect on this powerful question:

What outdated habits or beliefs are you ready to shed in 2025 while building embodied resilience for uncertain times?

Just like the snake sheds its skin, we, too, can release what no longer serves us—perfectionism, overing, self-doubt—and create space for growth, alignment, and resilience for the times ahead. The cool thing about this metaphor is that the snake doesn’t shed all at once. No, shedding takes time and intention. Shedding is also healing and cleansing. And as the old skin shimmies down, new growth is revealed. It’s a both/and. It’s a letting go and growing new.

I’m working with this in my own life and work, too. Now that I’m three and half years into this work full time out of academia (or as a client today so beautifully said, ‘it’s not a business, it’s like your life work’ ❤️), I am continuously reevaluating what’s working, what needs to shift, what I need let go of graciously, and what areas of resistance point to my next areas of growth.

My upcoming client community quarterly planning workshop is titled 2025 as Your Year of Shedding and Rebirth. It’s this Friday, January 10 from 1:30-3pm MT, and we’ll be exploring how to:

  • Identify and release the habits or beliefs holding you back.

  • Build embodied resilience for uncertain times to stay grounded in yourself and community.

  • Address resistance (both internal and external) and align your actions with your values.

It’s not about quick fixes—it’s about cultivating sustainable change that nurtures your body, mind, spirit, and community. Together, we’ll schedule out the bullshitery and create space for the intentions and work that truly matters to you and that is needed in this world.

Takeaway for Today
Here are some journaling prompts to get your own shedding process started:

  1. What habit or belief has been weighing you down this past year? How does it show up in your daily life? What have you been tolerating?

  2. What would life and work feel like if you could let go of this habit or belief?

  3. What resistance do you notice (body, emotions, thoughts) as you imagine releasing it? Where do you feel this resistance in your body?
