Let’s Make Your Professional Development Funds Work for YOU
Career Growth, Creative Renewal—Funded by Your Institution
There’s been a lot flung at us this week, and I know it will keep coming. But I also know we are more powerful together.
Right now, my goal is to help you plan and scaffold the support you need—mentally, emotionally, and in your nervous system—so that you can show up for yourself and others in ways that are intentional and regenerative, without succumbing to the burnout these systems perpetuate.
That’s why I want to share two things with you today:
How I can help you explore using institutional funds to support your career growth, leadership development, and creative renewal.
A case study of how one faculty member used professional development funds to invest in their well-being and career sustainability.
Use Your Professional Development Funds to Invest in Your Future
Many universities and organizations allow professional development funds to be used for career coaching, leadership growth, and well-being support. My services often align with organizational guidelines for faculty or professional development. Let’s figure out how to make it work for you.
Recognized Professional Development: Many organizations recognize coaching, leadership development, and creative renewal as legitimate professional expenses. This is 100% what we’re doing while we’re working together in community, on creativity, and career and life alignment.
Flexible Invoicing: I tailor invoices to align with your institution’s language and funding requirements. I’ve done this with grants, research dollars, higher education, corporate, nonprofits, etc.
Maximize Your Resources: We can design a custom package that fits your budget, including split invoicing—with one part covered by institutional funds and the other by personal investment.
If you have access to faculty research funds, leadership development budgets, or professional coaching allocations, these funds may cover:
One-on-one Mentorship Coaching for career transitions, leadership growth, or resilience building
The Cultivate Connection Community Program (monthly workshops + group support)
The Creativity Lab - The Abundant Imagination (a space for structured creative exploration and burnout from systems recovery)
Let’s make your professional development funds work for you. Here’s a sample of what impact we can make together.
Case Study: Reawakening Creativity from Burnout
Background: Sam, a full professor in mid-career, felt disconnected from her creativity after years of chronic burnout and exhaustion from pandemic-era workloads. She felt less and less able to make significant progress on the writing and publishing projects. She wasn’t looking to pivot from academia, like some of my clients. Instead she craved reconnecting to her purpose of being there and making an impact without the pressures from the system that drove burnout. All that overing had caused the oomph of the work and writing to fade.
By using her university’s professional development funds, she joined the Cultivate Connection Community Program and the Creativity Lab, which gave her structured support, monthly workshops, and practical tools for play, rest, and mindfulness.
Results: Sam regained motivation and creative flow, making her research and writing feel enjoyable again. She set firm boundaries, let some things go, recommitted to others, prioritized her well-being, and integrated restorative practices into her daily life. She finally figured out systems and processes that actually worked with her brain and body, as well as her logistical schedule. With the support of a like-minded community, she overcame creative blocks and reconnected with a sense of balance and purpose.
Burnout recovery and career sustainability take time and consistency—but you don’t have to do it alone. The right support structures can help you integrate these practices into your daily life with ease and lasting benefits.
