Transformational Mentorship Coaching

As a recovering academic and rule-follower, I offer mentorship coaching tailored to your transformation using my own interdisciplinary toolbox called Embodied Action so that you can achieve goals and breakthrough blocks to create paradigm shifts and radical transformation by being in mind-body-soul-Earth alignment.

About Mentorship Coaching for Embodied Action

Mentorship Coaching is a unique program I developed after 20 years of advising and mentoring educators, professionals, and advocates through transitions of life, career pivots, graduate degrees, and wellbeing. Unlike other therapy or coaching work, this program is both individual and group based, which past and current clients rave about the impact of having focused time as well as a community of genuine support. Mentorship coaching is an integrative, holistic approach where we co-construct and collaborate on your personal, educational, spiritual, and professional journey. It is informed training in mindfulness, trauma-based somatic healing, climate health, and nature-based interventions combined within my personal scholarship on the study of gender, learning and development, and psychological sociology.

My Awaken Resilience Model ensures an alignment of mind-body-soul-community that is relational, reciprocal, and grounded in individual, collective, and Earth wellbeing. You (re)learn connection to yourself, being in presence, and power of choice. You (re)gain clarity on your values and purpose from living in other’s expectations and wants. You grow your impact in ways that create paradigm shifting change and improve systems as a good ancestor.

Our work in Mentorship Coaching occurs both individually, in a private 1:1 container, and in group work within my Cultivated Connection Community Program, open only to current clients that is full of other change-oriented folks so that you find validation, feel connection, and relative safety to heal.

What clients are saying about our work together

If you want to get clear on your values and build a life that supports those values, you should work with Tamara.

Before working with her, I felt a little out of my depth. I was doing things that were never modeled for me and needed a mentor. I wanted to learn how to achieve without burning myself out. Since working with Tamara, I feel more balanced -- even while completing my doctorate and finding a job.

Tamara genuinely wants you to live your best life, whatever that means for you. She's approachable and insightful. I highly recommend working with her!

- Sarah

I thought my life was okay. It was not exceptional or depressive. I was a day-in, day-out person. Most others would describe me as a great manager who was very proactive. Everyone could come and dump what they needed to on me. I gave time and resources away freely.

I struggled to recognize the problems around me and the ways I was contributing to them. I was getting so tired of being kind. I often felt walked all over and overlooked. I often felt like, even though I cared for everyone, no one cared for me or knew me.

Since working with Tamara, I have made leaps forward in drawing healthy boundaries and being creative. I never would have guessed that I had a side that wanted to paint daily. Finding that part of who I am has been so freeing. I am very proud of the boundaries that I have drawn in work and home.

- Stephanie

There's a lot of noise and overwork facing us every day. Give yourself a gift. Sign up to work with Tamara. It will help you grow, think, puzzle, create, and imagine--and to clarify and foster the work you most want to do in the world.

Supporting and integrating careers, leadership, and Personal

I’ve worked with:

  • Non-profit, corporate, and higher education leaders who want to address their burnout and become resilient leaders

  • People working through major life transitions, including educational and career advancement, divorce/separation/breakups, parenthood, identities, and personal growth

  • Professionals earning their terminal or graduate degree while working full-time and negotiating life’s many other relationships and responsibilities

  • Mid- and late-career professionals and faculty who want to (re)energize their work with a greater focus on purposeful impact

  • Folks navigating mid-life transitions and wanting to shift their relationship to work

Topics we often address during mentorship coaching:

  • Creating change within systems through inclusive, paradigm-shifting frameworks of critical theories, mindfulness, creativity, somatic, and wellness

  • Countering stuck feelings or blocks and how to identify your sabotaging behaviors and thoughts to create neurological rewiring and resilience

  • Tossing out fear-based impostor syndrome myths and other socialized bullshitery that keeps you playing small

  • Letting go of the external stories so that you can rewrite your own rules

  • (Re)Evaluating expectations and setting boundaries with realistic timelines and goals

  • Shifting your mindset to create spaciousness in your routines and work

  • Releasing the political, gendered, and cultural norms that don’t serve your goals, nor can create positive social change

  • Breaking down the steps and expectations of the ambiguous process of career or educational transitions

And anything that comes up for you that you don’t want to hold on to anymore as you transform into your boldest life that you love living!

More from clients about our work together

Case Studies

We all hit moments in our lives and careers when we need support. But not all support serves the same purpose or leads to lasting change.

Advice tells you what they would do. Mentorship often shows you the path they took. Courses offer frameworks, but not always the clarity to apply them. Therapy helps you heal patterns and process emotions.

Mentorship coaching, the way I practice it, offers something different. It’s a space to integrate your lived experience, name what’s no longer working, and reconnect to the truth of what you want next. Paired with the strategic support to actually begin, that’s based on decades of leadership and career research and training.

This kind of support doesn’t hand you answers, but it helps you reclaim your inner authority and make purpose-aligned decisions, even when the external world feels uncertain or unstable.

Let me show you what that looked like for Aida.

I often hear from prospective clients: “I know I need help, but I really should just focus on the practical stuff like my CV, job search, interview prep. I’ll work on myself later.”

I understand this impulse. And, please remember that the practical and the personal are not opposites. They’re intertwined.

If you're longing for lasting change, you have to do more than polish your résumé or CV as you prepare to apply for jobs. It takes regenerative resilience — the kind that starts from within and shapes every action you take. Otherwise, you risk operating in reactive mode rather than taking those proactive, intentional choices.

This is the foundation of our work together. I help you connect the inner work – values, somatic awareness, career grief, identity shifts – with the tangible tools like CVs, proposals, job strategies, and big decisions. The result? Embodied action that moves you toward your goals with great connection to who you are at your core.

A little about me…

I have advised and mentored faculty, leaders, professionals, and graduate students for over 20 years through research, publications, activism, career, and life transitions. I have published and presented research worldwide, and have bounced back from rejections, revisions, and reinventions after some good yelling and crying.

I have navigated relationships and divorce, motherhood, promotion and tenure, administrative bureaucracy, and finally kissed academia goodbye to create this body of work that is bigger than I could have imagined within the walls of the ivory tower. Through slow-work, soul-searching, and the breakthroughs, I created a new journey and am here now to support you in creating a paradigm shift to live a life worth loving.
