Erin’s Story: From Analysis Paralysis to Building a Values-aligned Business

Like I shared the other week, another training isn’t always the fix. One of the most powerful things about this work—coaching, Creativity Lab, and community sessions—is witnessing someone remember who they are.

“I was ready to rage quit my job, feeling trapped. Through our work, you helped me tune in to recognize and listen to the deeper part of me—connecting to my ‘hell yes.’ AND I'm recognizing that I can say no. I don't have to say yes to everything. I don’t have to keep looking for the next certification.”
– Erin, coaching client

This month, I want to share the story of one of my clients, a healthcare professional who came to our coaching space feeling stuck, scattered, and ready to “rage quit” her job. What unfolded over a few months was more than a career pivot in the traditional sense. It was a creative reawakening. She didn’t have to quit her job to get out of burnout but figure out how to work in ways that fit her needs better. She changed her relationship with work by shifting what she was doing in the day to day and started building something more nourishing from within the financial stability of her J-O-B.

Erin came into coaching wondering if someone with an academic background could understand her unique experience in healthcare. What I told her and I’ll share with you, too, is that higher ed and healthcare both suffer from similar systemic patterns that keep folks in chronic burnout lifestyle and rescuing-overing behaviors.

She felt overwhelmed by a loud inner critic, stuck in a loop of self-doubt and overthinking. Her words:

“I have major analysis paralysis. And it's about shifting out of that… It was huge for me.”

Through body-based reflection, guided journaling, and space to show up imperfectly, Erin began to release the pressure to have it all figured out. She showed up real. She showed up unsure. She kept showing up.

“You helped me realize I can embrace my authentic self… It’s kind of like I can have this dance with my job but not let it consume me.”

One of the most powerful areas we’ve been working on together is helping Erin clarify and create a value-aligned business. She has long had a vision of helping others through wellness, functional health, and herbal medicine, but was unsure how to combine those passions with the need to provide financially. Through our coaching, Erin started weaving her creative and business goals together, staying grounded in what matters most to her.

She’s begun to take small, aligned actions toward her vision:

  • Launching a discussion circle to connect others who share her values.

  • Developing wellness workshop curriculum focused on functional health, nutrition, and self-care.

  • Getting more clear on how to incorporate her deep love of herbal medicine into her offerings.

Erin’ journey is what Awakening Resilience is all about. It’s not about hustling harder. It’s not about bypassing fear. It’s about slowing down enough to reconnect with what’s alive in you and then gently walking your nervous system and your inner squirrels through that transformation.

“I just feel like I really… feel more present. More present in connection with me. More than I had before. So that's pretty awesome.”

Coaching isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. But if you’re feeling like something’s off, like you’ve hit a wall with your job, your energy, or your direction, coaching is tailored support. Because there’s a version of you, just under the surface, who’s ready to live more freely, creatively, and fully aligned.

If Erin’s story speaks to you, let’s talk about whether coaching might be a good fit. I offer 30-minute pressure-free connection calls to explore that together.
